ORTHOTICS FOR KIDS WITH FLAT FEET
How do orthotics help kids with flat feet?
Prescription orthotics support the arches, improve alignment and reduce strain on the feet, knees and legs. This helps children move more comfortably, stay active in sports and develop strong, healthy feet.
Are kids orthotics the same as adult orthotics?
No. Children’s orthotics are designed with softer materials and growth in mind. Our Podiatrists prescribe orthotics that support natural foot development while still providing the stability and cushioning kids need.
What is the difference between prescription orthotics and store-bought insoles?
Prescription orthotics are designed by podiatrists based on how your feet move and function. Unlike generic insoles, they are tailored to your specific needs to provide targeted support, improve movement and reduce strain.
How long do orthotics last?
Most prescription orthotics last between 12–24 months depending on usage, footwear and daily load. We recommend having them checked every 12–18 months to ensure they’re still supporting you correctly, as your feet and gait can change over time.
When should I take my child to a podiatrist for flat feet?
If your child has ongoing foot pain, avoids sports because of discomfort, wears out shoes unevenly or struggles with posture and balance, it’s time to seek professional advice. Prescription orthotics can make a big difference.
Can I order orthotics online without visiting a clinic?
Yes. Our online assessment allows our podiatrists to assess your movement and prescribe orthotics without needing an in-person appointment. This makes it easy to access podiatrist-prescribed orthotics from home.
How do I order my orthotics online?
Complete a short online assessment, answer a few quick questions and upload a video of you walking. Our podiatrists assess your movement, foot structure and lifestyle before prescribing orthotics tailored to you. Your orthotics are then made and delivered directly to your door.

🎥 How to Record Your Walking Video
To get the perfect prescription, our podiatrists need to see how you walk. Don’t worry — it’s quick and easy! Watch the short video below for a simple guide on how to film your walking video at home.
1. Find a flat, clear space
A hallway, driveway or quiet footpath works well. Make sure the area is clear of obstacles.
2. Set up your phone/camera
Ask a friend or family member to film or place your phone on a stable surface about 3–4 metres away.
3. Walk naturally
Walk away from the camera for 5–6 steps, then turn and walk back towards it.
Repeat this 2–3 times at your normal walking pace.
4. Check your video
Make sure your feet and legs are clearly visible in the frame and the video isn’t shaky or blurry.
5. Upload with your assessment
Attach the video when completing your online assessment and you’re done!
