What is a Podiatrist?
A Podiatrist is a university trained health professional who specialises in the prevention, diagnosis, investigation, treatment and rehabilitation of medical and surgical conditions of the feet and lower limbs.
Podiatrists treat a vast range of conditions such as:
- Bone and joint disorders
- Arthritis
- Soft-tissue and muscular injuries
- Neurological and circulatory diseases including diabetes.
- Sports and musculoskeletal injuries
- Skin and nail disorders: corns, calluses and ingrown toenails.

Toby Thompson

After graduating in Newcastle, Toby relocated from the NSW Central Coast to begin his career as a Podiatrist.
Toby has always wanted to work in the Allied Health field and welcomes the ever-changing scope of practice podiatry has to offer. He has a keen interest in many aspects including orthotic therapy, paediatrics, gerontology and pathology management.
His competitive background in a variety of sports has enabled him to understand the importance of pain-free exercise and injury prevention. It’s his passion to see his patients to return to the activity they love as soon as possible to reach their sporting goals.

Having finished university in Newcastle, Nathan moved to QLD and started his podiatry career working in a private practice in Ipswich.
Nathan’s sporting career came to an end with injuries, however with his thorough understanding and knowledge, feels well equipped to manage patient goals and outcomes.
He enjoys many aspects of podiatry, having a keen interest in Sports Podiatry which specialises in the diagnosis, management and prevention of foot and lower limb injuries and disorders.
He engages in continued education and is an active member of the Australian Podiatry Association, Sports Medicine Australia and the Australasian Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.

Adrian Bucknell

Adrian moved to Australia to provide Podiatry services to aged care facilities in the Toowoomba region. He then relocated to the Gold Coast to increase the scope of his Podiatry practice.
Adrian’s keen interests include diabetes management and diagnosing and treating foot and lower limb pathologies. He also enjoys a background in athletic footwear fitting and actively participates in continual professional development.
During his spare time he enjoys being near the water, participating in and watching sports and spending time with friends and family!

Molly Jennings

Molly graduated from La Trobe University in Melbourne with a Bachelor of Applied Science and Masters of Podiatric Practice.
She has since moved up to the Gold Coast to continue pursuing her Podiatry career. Through completing several placements in private and public hospitals all over Melbourne and high risk podiatry clinics and community centres, she has gained great experience through her exposure to a variety of foot conditions. This has given her the ability to gain a holistic approach to managing patients needs.
Molly has developed a keen interest in all aspects of Podiatry including general podiatry care, musculoskeletal injuries, diabetic foot management and sports injuries.
Since moving from Melbourne, in her spare time she thoroughly enjoys going to the beach, going on new adventures and appreciates the active lifestyle and sports stemming from playing competitive netball and AFL umpiring. Given this, Molly strives to provide patient centred care that tailors the goals and interests of each person she treats in diagnosis, management and prevention of foot and lower limb conditions and injuries.

Daniel Wiendl

After 15 years of clinical practice & lecturing in Pedorthics around the globe (Germany, Australia, Japan), Daniel advanced his expertise with a degree in Podiatry.
He enjoys all aspect of podiatry practice and has a special interest in musculoskeletal conditions of the lower limb & foot. His competencies in foot orthoses was awarded with the Charles W Graves Award in 2016.
Daniel’s wealth of knowledge in footwear & foot orthoses combined with qualifications in dry needling and foot mobilisation allow for individualised patient treatment in order to achieve their individual goals.

Alexandra Carter
Alexandra Carter B.H.SC – Podiatry

Ali has vast experience in private practice with interests including diabetic foot care and education, general podiatry care and lower limb biomechanics.
With an additional Bachelors degree in Anatomy from the University of Queensland she has a particular interest in musculoskeletal injury and biomechanics. Ali is a registered DVA footwear prescriber helping veterans with general footcare and custom footwear prescription.
Ali attends many conferences and educational events and is a member of Sports Medicine Australia and the Australasian Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine.

Nathan Marsh
Nathan Marsh B.H.SC – Podiatry

With over 10 years experience in private practice, Nathan has developed a keen interest in Orthotic Therapy, Paediatrics, Diabetic Management and Musculoskeletal Podiatry.
With an additional Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety he combines with his Podiatry training to offer workplace injury management and prevention services. This can include footwear recommendations, orthotics and general podiatry treatment prevention across many occupations. Nathan†has a passion for seeing his patients transition from injury, through rehabilitation, and help them get back to work and life in a timely manner.

Lauren Wockner
Lauren Wockner B.H.SC – Podiatry, M.A.Pod.A

Lauren always knew she wanted to work in the Allied Health field and being a Podiatrist is the perfect fit. Podiatry enables her to combine a passion for health, well being and helping others.
Lauren enjoys every aspect of podiatry practice and treating patients of all ages. She has a keen interest in sports podiatry, musculoskeletal conditions, orthotic design and manufacture. Lauren strives to help patients through the process of rehabilitation, return to pain free activity and injury prevention. Holding certificate’s III, IV and a Diploma in Fitness in addition to her Podiatry degree. Lauren has a vast amount of knowledge regarding health, fitness and sports, specifically related to lower limb health.
With her extensive and current background in professional sport Lauren has an understanding of the demands placed on the body to perform. Her ability to employ appropriate measures regarding Podiatry treatments will assist patients to remain active and injury and pain free. Lauren also holds dry needling certifications.
Lauren enjoys working with patients helping them reach their personal goals and full potential!

Shayla Nguyen
Shayla Nguyen B.H.SC – Podiatry, M.A.Pod.A
Education: Queensland University of Technology

Shayla has a keen interest in all aspects of Podiatry including musculoskeletal, diabetic and general. She has an extensive background in school and athletic footwear fitting for children which she combines with an interest in childrens feet and gait.
Her knowledge of footwear is combined with her Podiatry training to provide patients with important footwear advice for the prevention or treatment of many foot and lower-limb conditions.
Volunteer work has included providing Podiatry services for homeless, indigenous and special needs children.
Shayla attends many professional development events staying at the forefront of modern treatment technology including recently attending the Australian Podiatry Conference.
